Sustainability
We only use 100% sustainably sourced solid wood from local forests! Wood is particularly attractive as a renewable raw material – of course with the PEFC certificate! Everything is produced in our factory in Wiesenfeld near Coburg.
PEFC certified
for sustainable forest management
We receive our solid wood exclusively from local, regional forests that are sustainably managed. We source our raw material WOOD – which we use for wooden packaging – from ecological, social and economic aspects. PEFC is the world’s leading certification program for sustainable forest management – the Hatzel company is a certified timber processing company under number 04-31-1471. This certification confirms that the wood comes from sustainable sources and was produced according to environmentally friendly and socially responsible principles. The certificate guarantee yearly audits.
With the PEFC seal we ensure that as many trees are reforested as wood is harvested.
Low energy and resource consumption
Wood, compared to other materials or plastics, requires less energy and resources to process.
Heating with our production waste
Our machines have powerful extraction systems connected to extract the wood chips – we can use this to heat our entire production area!
Own photovoltaic energy
Since mid-2021 we have been receiving our electricity from our own 300kW photovoltaic system
